Potapint/Lindr Instructions

  • Place the Portapint on a sturdy table or counter top, with the drip tray underneath the taps.
  • Set the cooling control knob on the front of the unit to 4, which is a medium setting.
  • Plug in and switch it on (switch is on the side of the unit). You’ll hear the refrigeration system start up (sounds like a fridge) and you should leave the Portapint for 10 minutes to cool down before using it.
  • Place the keg(s) within reach of the coupler(s). If you are using 2 kegs, decide which one goes with which colour line.
  • Connect the couplers to the kegs. For each coupler, with the handle up, engage the coupler in the lugs and turn clockwise until the coupler stops. Then push the handle down until it clicks.
  • For each tap, open the beer tap on the font fully and pour into a bucket until beer pushes water or gas out of the system. Pour a further half pint to make sure.
  • Pour some beer; if it is too foamy use the flow regulator on the side of the tap to slow the flow down. If the beer comes out too flat then use the flow regulator to speed it up.
  • When pouring beer, open the tap fully and pour down the side of the glass. Don’t partially open the tap; or it will just make the beer foam.
  • Your Portapint system is rated to pour up to one pint every 90 seconds. Pouring faster then this may make the beer some out more foamy and less cold – something to be aware of.
  • If the beer flow stops completely, and you know there is still beer in the keg, the system has probably frozen up. Turn the cooling control knob on the front of the unit to zero, wait a few minutes, and start pouring to clear the blockage. Then reset the cooling control knob to a lower number.
